Vijayawada, Jun 9: A minor girl was allegedly raped by three minors on the premises of a government school in Gannavaram near the city on Wednesday. The accused were produced before the Juvenile Justice Court on Thursday.
The seven-year-old victim who recently passed Class II was playing in the Dasari colony of her village B.B. Gudem in the mandal, according to Gannavaram police.
The three accused, aged about 13, managed to take her along with them on a bicycle on the pretext of offering chocolates, the police said. They belong to the same village.
They took her inside the village's upper primary school, which was closed for summer holidays, and allegedly sexually assaulted her. The girl, who was left alone, walked to her home and complained to her parents of pain and the assault. The parents immediately approached the Gannavaram police and lodged a complaint.
Gannavaram Circle Inspector Gouse Baig told The Hindu that the accused were under police surveillance and produced before the Juvenile Justice Court on Thursday.
