After a fight broke out between two factions in the jail, couple of days ago, DIG(Prison) Hithendra visited the Mangalore jail and prepared a list of those who had played a role in the fight and strictly instructed that the trouble makers of the jail should be shifted elsewhere.

Accordingly Madoor Yusuf alias Isbu, Mohommad Azaruddin and six others have been shifted.

Sources have said that there are all possibilities of shifting Rasheed Malabari, the close aide of Chota Shakeel.

New Superintendent

The Prison Department has also spared thoughts on transferring the jail superintendent Doddakamaiah.

There are all possibilities of Assistant Superintendent Ramesh taking charge as the new jail superintendent in Mangalore.

Mangalore Jail had become a den of illegal activities and the inmates in the jail were seen violating all the jail rules. Supply of Ganja, mobile phone, weapons etc were going on unabated and with aim of putting an end to this the DIG has sketched out several plans, which also includes transfer of the present jail superintendent.
