Bangalore, Jul 30: PDP Chairman Abdul Nasser Madani who was released on one-month bail on medical grounds after being jailed as an under-trial prisoner in Bangalore for the last four years has chosen facebook as a means to interact with his followers. His official facebook page started last week and got more than 37,000 likes within a week.

The facebook page which was started on July 20 is maintained by Madani's son Umar Mukhtar. “I am now experiencing freedom thanks to a slight ray of justice and relief. I am also taking part in social media in this phase,” Madani says in his first post. He also has urged the community to pray for those dying on the streets of Palestine. Most of the posts convey the virtues of the month of Ramzan and the good deeds to be followed to honour the month.

In what seems to be a letter to his followers, Madani says that he started the page as there were no other means to interact with his brothers' after he got to breathe in the air of freedom'. "Each word that comes in the page in my name is uploaded by my son Umar Mukhtar after I dictate it to him. I also listen to the comments on my posts, as he reads it including the names," he posted.

Abdul Nasser Madani has also mentioned about how bad his eyesight is. “I am not able to read the contents of the page because of my deteriorating eyesight. However, I try reading the Quran daily using one printed in big letters which was gifted by a man from Oman, that too with powerful lenses,” he says.

Madani was arrested on August 2010, while on a Ramzan fast as an under-trial prisoner in connection with the Bangalore serial blasts and was lodged in Parapanna Agrahara Prison before he was granted one-month bail on July 11, after four years of imprisonment.

Bengaluru: The BJP on Tuesday accused the police of "framing" an innocent person in the cow attack case in Chamarajapet here and demanded a fair investigation into the incident.

Sheikh Nasru (30), a native of Champaran in Bihar, has been arrested for allegedly slashing the udders of three cows on Sunday.

The matter escalated into a communal controversy after the saffron party threatened to observe 'Black Sankranti' if the culprits were not arrested before the festival.

The party has since emphasised that the actual perpetrators must be apprehended.

Addressing media here, BJP state president B Y Vijayendra said, "There are claims that an innocent man has been falsely implicated and is being projected as the culprit."

Leader of Opposition R Ashoka also raised doubts about the investigation, questioning how a mentally unstable man could work at the firm for a decade.

Ashoka noted that the incident occurred at the veterinary hospital, which spans four acres.

He alleged that the hospital was recently declared Waqf property and claimed that Karna, the owner of the injured cattle, had opposed the Waqf Board’s decision, suggesting this opposition might have led to the incident.

The party leaders led by Vijayendra and Ashoka celebrated 'Sankranti' by offering special prayers to cows at the spot where the attack took place.

Meanwhile, state Home Minister G Parameshwara dismissed the opposition charges and said the police were investigating the case without any bias.

"If the investigation reveals the involvement of more people, then police will not spare them," he told reporters here.
