Abdul Salam murder case: Six arrested

Kasaragod, May 5: A police team headed by Kumbla Circle Inspector V.V. Manoj on Wednesday arrested six persons for the murder of Abdul Salam, 27, at Peral, near Kumbla.

The arrested were Mangamudi Siddik, the prime accused, and his accomplices Umer Farooq, 29, a resident of Badriya Nagar, Sahir, 32, of Pervad locality, Niyas, 31, of Peral, Latheef, 36, of Pervad Kotta and Hareesh, 29, a resident of Bambrana.

The police official said that Abdul Salam on April 29 had abused Siddik and even issued murder threats.

The police team have recovered deadly weapons including a long knife besides blood stained clothes in this connection. The Judicial First Class Magistrate court here remanded the six accused to two weeks judicial custody.

The slain Abdul Salam was said to be an accused in a murder case committed near Kumbla in 2014 while the arrested persons had criminal backgrounds, the police official said.
