Abu Dhabi, Dec 25: Not all those who migrate to the Gulf nations with big dreams in their eyes and seeking greener pastures can have their dreams fulfilled. There are many who are caught in trouble of physical and mental difficulties and forced to return back home with empty hands.
This is the story of one such person from Mangalore, who suffered partial paralysis in his right leg and recently returned to his homeland, thanks to the kind gesture of Abu Dhabi chapter, Emirates India Fraternity Forum (EIFF).
Mohammed Sharif, son Beary Hamid, a waiter of Mangalore origin who has to leave back to his home. Hailing from Thekkar near Belthangady, he arrived in Abu Dhabi on 10-December-2013 and joined his employer M/s. The Choice Restaurant, UAE, as a waiter. However, within two days he felt severe pain in his right leg and was gradually unable to walk due to partial paralysis of his leg which obstructed him from attending his regular duty. As his residency stamping process was undergoing and due to non-availability of medical insurance, he was not eligible for free medical treatment and the employer has asked him to return back to his home as he was declared unfit for duty.
Mohammed Sharif, being frustrated due to loss of job as well as unable to bare the air ticket charges to return to India.
A relative of Sharif on getting to know his miserable plight contacted the Emirates India Fraternity Forum (EIFF), Abu Dhabi chapter, as they are always in front run to help the needy people, who rushed to his aid and arranged air ticket to India. Sharif reached his home town on 23rd December, 2013.
EIFF expressed its gratitude to its members and well-wishers for their cooperation in resolving the issue within the shortest span possible.
