Kasaragod, Apr 6: In an endeavour to remind the electorates about the significance on the need to exercise their right to franchise, actor Kavya Madhavan registered her signature on the sign wall in the presence of hundreds of people gathered at function at the hilly township of Bheemanadi in her home district on Tuesday.
The sign wall pointed on the bounden duty of a voter to cast the ballot as a responsible citizen to register higher voter turnout so that the expensive election process is completed in a successful manner.
The programme organised by the District Election Office was aimed at bringing public awareness on the need to increase voter turnout in the May 16 Assembly polls.
The function which was presided over by District Collector E. Devadasan in his capacity as Chief Electoral Officer, was also attended by senior officials including Sub Collector Mrinmayi Joshi Shashank, Vellarikund Tahasildar K. Ravikumar and election Deputy Collector R.P. Mahadev Kumar. The officials are planning to publicise the voting exercise through vehicular campaigns, posters, leaflets and street drama.
