The Moodbidri police said the driver of Alva’s College bus suddenly turned the vehicle to the left of the road and hit Dombayya, who was trying to cross the road around 1 p.m.
The injured Dombayya was taken to a private hospital in Mangaluru where he died of his injuries.
The police said they have arrested Sangappa, the driver of the college bus.
