Mangaluru, Aug 2: The official logo of Amaco Mangalore Premier League-2015 was launched in a grand ceremony organised by Karnataka Regional Cricket Academy (KRCA) at Forum Fiza Mall in the city on Sunday.
During the launch ceremony, the names of the 12 cricket teams to compete in the cricket league were announced.
The franchise of one of the participating teams – Coastaldigest.com XI, owned by Mohammed Ashraf, CEO of Coastaldigest.com was launched on the occasion.
The other competing teams are - United Ullal, owned by Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader, Karavali Warriors owned by Dheeraj, Udupi Tigers owned by Amith S Shetty, Kushi Super Kings by Mohammed Sharif, Bedra Bulls owned by Minister for Sports and Youth Services Abhayachandra Jain, Ocean Sharks Kudla owned by Mazhar Nakash, Bajpe Jaguars owned by Sharath Siri, Maestro Titlers Central owned by Canute Fernandes, Royal Mitians Moodbidri owned by Rajesh Chowta and Suratkal Strikers owned by Mohammed Shahid.
The song to be selected as the possible theme song was also launched on the occasion.
During the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were handed over to budding cricketers who participated in Karnataka Premier League (KPL) matches.
Abhayachandra Jain, Mangaluru North MLA Mohideen Bava, Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo, chairman of Al Muzain, Saudi Arabia Zakariya Jokatte, convenor of KSCA, Mangaluru Zone Manohar Amin, KRCA president and MPL organiser Mohammed Sirajuddin, Amaco Group of Companies CEO Asif Amaco and others were present on the occasion.
Convenor of KRCA and MPL organiser Imthiyaz welcomed the gathering.
