September 21, 2014

Bangalore, Sep 21: A 30-year-old woman used a 'modest teacher' avatar to befriend men and made away with valuables once she won their trust. However, her luck ran out when an executive from Andhra went to police.

spiked his coffee
Renuka, alias Ranjini, from Bhadravathi, was arrested on Thursday.

In one case, she befriended Sanjeeva Reddy, senior executive of an industrial unit, when she went to AP on a pilgrimage in August.

On September 4, Reddy was to come to Bangalore. Renuka requested him to book a room for her in Majestic as she wanted to attend a workshop. On September 5, they checked into SB Lodge. When Reddy went to the washroom, Renuka allegedly spiked his coffee. She then robbed him of his gold chain and two rings and fled.

Later, it was found she had duped an industrialist too. Police recovered gold jewellery from Renuka. They suspect her involvement in other cases also.
