New Delhi, Sept 29: The BJP on Saturday lauded the bravery of Indian armed forces in carrying out the surgical strikes against Pakistan across the Line of Control in 2016.
"We salute the unmatched valour of our brave soldiers who conducted Surgical Strikes," the saffron party's official Twitter handle posted a message with a video.
The video footage shows Indian army carrying out the surgical strikes and also the glimpses of speeches and interview comments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a tweet on Friday evening, BJP's IT cell chief Amit Malviya wrote: "Two years ago, on the intervening night of 28/29 September, India struck enemy camps across the border to avenge cowardly killing of its men in uniform, the only third country in the world other than USA and Israel to do so".
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated 'Parakram Parv' at India Gate on Friday to mark the second anniversary of the surgical strikes.
The surgical strike was carried out by Indian army on September 28-29 in 2016 - nearly 10 days after 18 jawans were killed in Uri by an unprecedented terror attack by terrorists.
The strikes were carried out in Bhimber, Hotspring, Kel & Lipa sectors, on Pakistani side of LoC, according to reports while the location was about 500 meters to 1.5 km across LoC.
