Belagavi, Dec 23: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and JDS-Congress Coordination Committee Chairman Siddaramaiah on Sunday said that there is no dissatisfaction among Congress Legislators over Cabinet Expansion and BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa is only day dreaming about becoming Chief Minister.
"It is only a rumour spread about former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi joining BJP quitting Congress. Will anybody join a sinking ship. BJP is a sinking ship in Karnataka and will anybody join it. It is only a speculation and there is no truth in it," he added.
Yesterday rumours were doing rounds that Jarakiholi may join BJP after he was axed from the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) coalition cabinet. Ramesh's exit from the ministry has paved way for the induction of his younger brother Satish Jarkiholi.
However, Ramesh is reportedly disappointed over his dropping from cabinet following which had announced of quitting as a legislator.
A day after the second cabinet expansion on Sunday, during a brief chat with a television correspondent over the telephone on a question on whether he was resigning as a legislator? Ramesh said, “Yes it confirmed that I will be resigning in a week, but will not reveal the numbers"
Before the cabinet expansion, rumours suggested that Ramesh was exploring the possibilities of quitting congress and joining rival Bharatiya Janata Party. Ramesh did not even attend consecutive cabinet meetings and distanced from the present setup. He chose to remain in Mumbai when he was most expected to attend the cabinet meeting.
