Boy dies after eating snack laced with rat poison

Mandya, Aug 14: A 10-year-old boy, who ate a snack laced with rat poison, died at Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences hospital here on Friday night after battling for life for two days.

According to the Kala Muddana Doddi police, the boy, identified as N. Kishan, was a native of Kannali village in Maddur taluk.

He was at his grandmother Ningamma’s residence at Gurudevarahalli when he consumed the snack on August 10.

Ms. Ningamma had mixed rat poison in bonda to trap rats. Unknowingly, Kishan consumed it.
