Kasaragod registers 86.85 mm rain

Kasaragod, Jun 21: Incessant rain lashed the district on Wednesday affecting public mobility.

The district registered 86.85 mm rain in the 24 hours ending 10 a.m. on Wednesday, official sources here said.

The water level in major rivers in the district has gone up considerably. A house was destroyed and two were damaged in the rain. The house of Maimoona, a resident of Chitthari in Hosdurg taluk, was destroyed while the houses of Appu of Palayi in Kodakkad village, near Neeleswaram, and of Safia of Pallikkare village sustained damages, the sources said.

No casualty was reported. Schools and commercial establishments functioned and public transport plied.
