Auto driver Sattar, fish vendor Mohammad come as saviours for 22 lives in flood hit Bantwal

Mangalore: Two youth from B C road in Bantwal taluk have achieved a rate feat. They have so far saved 22 people from the fatal embraces of flooded river, thereby becoming savior literally.

On Thursday morning, the level of river Nethravati rose to a precarious high and along with revenue and police officials were two youth from local area toiling hard to save the lives of those people with whom they shared bond of humanity.

Discarding all their fear of death Abdul Sattar Goodninabali and Mohammad from M K Road kept saving one person after another till about Thursday night, setting an outstanding example of bravery, selflessness and service to the needy.

When water started gushing into houses at Military Camp maidan, at Panemangalur, the cops called Sattar and Mohammad to help the stranded families. The duo had been of great help to the local areas during times of crisis of this kind.

Plunging into action the duo saved 8 elderly from Premadhama old age home at Kaikanja of B Muda village and four from houses near SVS temple school using boats.

Sattar is an auto driver by profession and Mohammad is a fish vendor.

While the Circle Inspector Anil S kulkarni has openly lauded the efforts of the local swimmers, Tahshildar B S Malleswami has said that reward will be given to the two after discussing the same with the DC.
