I am sure there may not be even one person who has not nurtured a dream during lifetime. Festivals are all about celebrations dreams and Christmas is one such celebrations.
Be it in the past or in the present scenario the season of Christmas ushers in a lot of hope and dream within all of us. There are all together five dreams that are connected to the story of Christmas. Joseph was blessed with four dreams and his necessary actions at the opportune time saved the son of god from danger.
The wise men who were warned in a dream (the fifth dream) took a different route after paying obeisance to the new born King, because they too were warned of the evil schemes of King Herod who wanted to destroy the child (son of god).
Joseph and Mary had to go through harrowing times in the cold winter to save the newborn baby. But they found joy in doing that because they were aware of the presence of God among them.
Similarly, the wise men from east had to undertake a tedious journey to have a glimpse of the Saviour of the world in swaddling clothes. Therefore Christmas teaches us that dreams demand sacrifices. To realize a dream one has to undergo tremendous pain and hard work.
If you look around your city the celebration of Christmas has already begun with Christmas offers with big discounts, the celebrations in different colleges like musical evening and the churches being decorated.
Christmas lights have illuminated the city streets while malls, markets, condominiums and hotels all gearing up to celebrate the festival.
Preparations are in full swing in Christian households to welcome baby Jesus. Christmas tree are installed everywhere, while organizations are planning various events such as crib contest to mark the big day.
These festivities again make all of us dream. Let all our dreams get fulfilled at this celebration of dreams and Coastal Digest wishes you all a Merry Christmas!
