Mandya, Jan 27: Former chief minister and BJP national vice-president S M Krishna has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be re-elected as the prime minister.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to his native Somanahalli near here, he said Modi has given a corruption-free administration in the last four-and-a-half years. "The country was looking for a dynamic leader and Modi emerged as a powerful leader. He made the country one of the powerful nations in the world," he said.
Speaking about Karnataka, he said the BJP has a good future in the state and the party will get more seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
Krishna said the grand alliance against the prime minister for the 2019 Lok Sabha election will not serve the purpose and it will not have any impact on Modi as all party leaders in the alliance are limited for their respective states. With the entry of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to active politics in Congress, there would be a triangular fight in Uttar Pradesh, he said.
