Kudligi, Oct 29: Former Prime Minister and JDS National President H D Devegowda today alleged that the Communal violence has considerably increased in the country during the National democratic Alliance (NDA) government headed by Prime Minister Naranda Modi.
Addressing a Election rally here on Monday, Mr Gowda claimed that when he was Prime minister the communal violence in the county particularly in Kashmir was nil and it was very low in the whole country.
"I carefully observed that Communal violence under the NDA government led by the Bharatiya
Janata Party has increased 28 per cent during last four years as compared to my 10 month period as Prime Minister".
He said that during his tenure as Prime Minister he had visited the North-East extensively - something which no other Prime Minister had done before - and that there was no communal violence in any part of the country, including in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr Gowda alleged that " in Gujarat, the cast violence and atrocity on SC / ST has also increased rapidly after the Narendra Modi as Prime minister, they openly murdered scheduled cast youth who eat sheep or goat, they threatened the minority people and follow the RSS ideology.
