New Delhi, Nov 3: With a purportedly incriminating video of chief minister BS Yediyurappa triggering a controversy in Karnataka politics, Congress on Saturday alleged that Union home minister Amit Shah was behind the resignation of its MLAs which toppled the JD(S)-Congress government in the state.
AICC general secretary KC Venugopal told reporters that Yediyurappa is seen in the video as saying that rebel MLAs, who were disqualified by then Karnataka Speaker, will get relief from the Supreme Court and will be able to contest elections again.
He said Congress has for long said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah, BJP was misusing government agencies like CBI, ED, and IT department to poach opposition MLAs and sabotage opposition governments.
“Now, it is established beyond any doubt with the video evidence of the chief minister. He has said that Shah was behind the entire management of the poaching episode. He is saying so in it,” Venugopal alleged.
