Mangalore, December 21: A two-and-a-half-year-old boy, suspected to be a victim of the harmful effects of endosulfan pesticide, died on Tuesday despite continuous medical care in Kasargod district in the nearby state of Kerala.
The victim is Sreehari, son of Sowmya, a resident of Muliyaru Vattanthatt in Kasaragod.
It is learnt that the child had been suffering from several birth defects including low vision, respiratory problem and deformity of the body.
He had undergone treatment at a private hospital in Mangalore and Pariyaram Medical College, but in vain.
As the respiratory problem began to exacerbate on Monday night, the boy was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, he breathed his last without responding to any treatment.
