Bangalore, December 28: Depressed over his prolonged illness, M Lakshmaiah, 47, a government high school teacher from Nelamangala, allegedly jumped to death from the fourth floor of a hospital at 6am Tuesday.
The incident took place at Chord Road Hospital on West of Chord Road in Basaveshwaranagar. Lakshmaiah, a resident of Basaveshwarnagar, was undergoing treatment for dengue in a third floor ward from Sunday.
His wife Sharadamma told police, "I spoke to him last night and he looked depressed. Around 5.30am, he asked for drinking water and went out of the ward for some reason. Later, a nurse who went to attend to him said he was missing."
