Bangalore, April 5: The Lokayukta police have registered an FIR against Usha Patwari, Deputy Director of the Department of Women and Child Development, for possessing assets disproportionate to her income.

The residence and office of Usha Patwari had been raided by the police on March 9 in relation to the scam in the implementation of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS). A separate FIR has already been filed against her and another official of the department Muniraju along with IAS officer Shamla Iqbal and Christy Friedgram Industries (CFI) for mismanagement of funds meant for implementation of the ICDS scheme. Sources in the Lokayukta said that Patwari’s movable and immoveable properties were estimated to be more than 150 per cent of her declared income.

During raids conducted on her house on March 9, the Lokayukta police has seized documents which showed her possessing about 30 bank accounts along with cash and jewellery.
