Hassan, April 17: A Class 8 student hanged himself at his house at Shantinagar in the city on Monday, apparently fearing his parents would reprimand him for not attending the final exam.
Naveen, a student of Government Boys’ High School, hanged himself in the bathroom, the police said.
Though it is said that failing in two subjects led Naveen to take the extreme step,? Shashikala, headmistress of the school, denied it.
“We had not failed Naveen, but had withheld his results for not attending the last two exams,” she said.
