Belthangady: Two arrested for murder toddy dealer murder

Mangalore, May 14: The Belthangady police have arrested two persons in connection with a murder of a toddy shop owner.

Toddy dealer Shashindra was brutally murdered on May 7 at Boliyar under the limits of Belthangady police station.

Of the accused, Harish Poojary alias Harishchandra (24) of Maplaje house in Nidle village in Belthangady taluk was arrested on Saturday and another accused Raghuchandra (25) of Noojila house, Nidle village, was arrested on Sunday, according to a police release.

The police have seized a knife, a purse of late Shashindra with Rs. 3,000 cash and a key from Poojary and seized a motor bike from Raghuchandra, it said.

Police were searching for another accused Manoj K, the release said. The difference of opinion between Shashindra and Poojary in the business of selling liquor bottles was the motive for the murder, it added.
