Patna, July 27: The anger is now showing on the streets of Patna. Women, men, students - all are raising their voice against the crime that has shaken the state. Two out of the five accused in the Patna gangrape and MMS case are still at large and people are out on the street, mounting pressure on the government to ensure swift action.
Of the three arrested, one is from Shimla, one from Delhi and the third is from Chapra in Bihar.
Raids are on to nab the other two. The police is also in touch with the alleged victim and recorded her statement at a civil court in Patna.
Social activist Kanchan Bala says, "We ask the courts and police that the due process of law is followed in the case. We will take to the streets, but we will ensure that justice is served."
Under instructions from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a special police team has been formed to crack the case, with SSP Patna Amrit Raj, saying, "Our special team is on the job. Very soon, we will give you breakthrough... A good breakthrough."
As the police and the media dig deeper into the case, more stark facts have emerged. Sources say that one of the boys accused in the case is a close relative of a top political leader. However, until anything is established, the police are not saying anything.
