Actor sends nude photos, arrested

Mumbai, Jan 22: Sanil Sodhi, a 38-year-old small-time actor, was arrested by the Versova police on Monday after a woman complained that he had been harassing her by sending nude photos of himself over the cellphone. Sodhi met the housewife a few months ago at a party. Recently, he started firing the photos to her, which prompted the woman to approach the police on Sunday. The police has learnt that Sodhi, who has been in several TV shows, is the son of a retired IAS officer.

Sodhi has been booked under section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC and section 67 of the Information Technology Act. He is out on bail.

The Versova police arrested a 38-year-old small time actor for allegedly sending his nude photographs to a housewife on her mobile phone. The accused met the victim few months back in a party where he befriended her. The actor Sanil Sodhi had sent his multiple nude photographs through his BBM services. The police learnt that his father is a retired IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh cadre.

The police said the accused started to sent the photographs since recently and the victim approached the police on Sunday and file the case. The police registered the case under Indian Penal Code section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC and section 67 of the Information Technology Act. The police arrested Sodhi in the case on early Monday and produced him before the court. He was released on bail. Sodhi had acted in several television shows and films.
