Mangaluru, Jan 21: Curfew will be relaxed in Mangaluru for three hours from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, according to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.
The CM, who visited the coastal city, which witnessed anti-CAA protests and police brutality couple of days ago is reeling under curfew since Thursday night, directed the police to take necessary steps maintain law and order.
He said that the curfew will be relaxed again on Sunday at 6 a.m. but will be re-imposed in the night.
From Monday, curfew will be lifted fully, but prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC will continue, the CM said adding decision has been taken keeping in mind representations from religious leadership.
Two people were shot dead when police opened fire on civilians at Bundar and Pandeshwar area on Thursday evening.
