.Udupi, Nov 3: A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (PoCSO) Act has been registered against two persons in connection with alleged sexual harassment on 17-year-old girl at a village in Hebri taluk of Udupi district.
The principal of Government High School, Muniyal, and DDPI have been booked for not taking action against two teachers who had allegedly inappropriately touched a minor girl while caning her for not completing a class work.
The teachers are Manjunath, a mathematics teacher and Sujeendra, a Hindi teacher. Both teachers are absconding. The incident had taken place one-and-a-half months ago.
The parents of the minor girl had already filed a complained against the two teachers with the school principal. However, the issue was ignored by principal Ramakrishna Hegde and DDPI Sheshashayana. Later, the parents were compelled to approach the police.
The Hebri police are investigating the matter.
