Mumbai, Nov 1: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh thinks that his 'good friend,' actress Deepika Padukone is ready for a role in a Hollywood film. At the MAMI Mela in Mumbai on Saturday, Ranveer said Deepika should do 'all the summer blockbusters' that had been offered to her.
"I think with your talent you are now ready for the west. You should do all the summer blockbusters that have been offered to you. Work with someone like Woody Allen," he said.
Deepika, who was apparently offered the hugely popular Fast And The Furious, had something else in mind.
"I was offered my first film way before I actually did my first film in Bollywood. But I waited for the right film and the right time so I wouldn't deny that there hasn't been interest but I think I will do it when I am ready," said Deepika.
The actress also spoke out about the gender pay disparity in Bollywood.
"I am not unhappy with what I am being paid. For me its important that I do good work. Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir have been around for so long. They are in a different league. But I think there should be some semblance when it comes to the current generation of stars," said Deepika.
"I was talking to a male co-star and he said that instead of increasing the payment for female stars the men should decrease their remuneration but it was just a conversation," she quipped.
