Mangalore, Feb 5: The 19th Inter-collegiate cricket tournament for Physiotherapy colleges under the auspices of Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust Mangalore was organized February 5 at Dr Ambedkar Stadium, NMPT, Panambur in Mangalore.
Inaugurating the event Mohammad Asif, Chairman, Amaco Group, Saudi Arabia said that himself having played in so many league matches during his student days and being a great fan of cricket always encouraged the budding cricketers.
Presiding over the function Founder Secretary of the Trust, Dr M Ramgopal Shetty asked the students to play the matches not only for the sake of winning but with true spirit and sportsmanship and to develop a healthy character.
In all, nine boys' team and six girls' team participated in the event.
Prof Govinda Naik, Administrative Officer of the Trust was the guest of honour.
Dr Ifthikar Ali, Student Welfare Officer of Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust Colleges and Syndicate Member of RGUHS, the organizing Secretary of the event, Mohammad Suhail, Assistant Professor at Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust Colleges, and Member, Board of Studies, RGUHS and faculty of Physiotherapy college were present.
Prof Gladson Jose, Principal, Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy welcomed the gathering.
Meryl Colaco Joe compered the programme and Manohar M, Physical Director; Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust Colleges proposed the vote of thanks.
