Mangaluru, Nov 9: The NSS unit of Dr. M. V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy in association with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bengaluru, organized a special camp at Dakshina Kannada Zillu Panchayat Model Higher Primary School, panjimogaru, Mangaluru on November 7.
The camp was inaugurated by Dayananda Shetty, Corporator, Panjimogaru ward. He stressed on the importance of social service. He gave example of Mother Theresa and her social work. He also spoke about the importance of government schools.
Dr. Divyanjali Shetty, Trustee, Dr. M. V. Shetty Memorial Trust presided over the function. She encouraged the students to take part in the activities of the NSS camp.
Prof. L. Gladson Jose, Principal. Dr. M. V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy motivated the students and said the motto of NSS. “We should do this not just for one day but have to serve throughout the life,” he said.
Dr. U. T. Ifthikar Ali, Senate Member, RGUHS, Bengaluru and NSS Program Officer, Dr. M. V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy visited the school class rooms and campus, planned the development program of the school.
The programme was started with prayer song and lamp lighting. Student of Dr. M. V. Shetty Physiotherapy Ms. Preeti Lobo and Ms.Sajina gave the welcome speech and Ms. Sahana delivered the vote of thanks. Mrs. Gauri, SDMC, Mrs. Jayalakshmi, Headmistress of the school, Dr. Sarish, Principal Dr. M. V. Shetty College of speech and hearing, Dr. Kaleena Shaikh, NSS Asst. coardinator, Dr. P. C. Swain, Dr.Mohammed Yasir Zahid, Dr. Sanjeevani Rai, Dr. Subash Srivastav, Dr. Cynthia Maria Sibi, Dr. Minnu Jose Dr. Tara Bhujel and Dr. Anuj Basnet faculty members of the college were present in the inauguration.
