Jubail, Dec 25: In a major breakthrough on the issue of stranded Mangalorean expatriate workers in Saudi Arabia, Coastaldigest.com has managed to settle the case of nine among 23 persons after a series of meetings with the sponsor and authorities concerned in the Kingdom.
Asif Amaco, the CEO of Amaco Group of Companies and the founding patron of Coastaldigest.com said that one of the 23 persons will be hired by his company while eight persons will fly back to Mangalore in a few days.
“We managed to convince the sponsor to granttanazul' to one of the workers to join our company. Remaining eight persons will receive exit stamps by Thursday,” he said adding that he would continue his efforts to solve the cases of remaining 14 expatriates.
The eight members who will be returning to Mangalore are: Siddeeq Akbar Sajipa, Abdul Shafi Mohammed, Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Musthafa, Mohammed Rafeeq, Anees Mohammed, Meharoj Hussain Shaik and Mohammed Shafi. Ibrahim Rizwan Bolame was hired by Amaco after paying for tanazul.
Family members of the stranded expatriates have expressed their gratitude to Coastaldigest.com for bringing the issue to light and taking necessary steps to solve it.
Mr Amaco thanked U T Khader, the Health and Family Welfare Minister of Karnataka, officers of Indian Embassy and other authorities for cooperation in this case.
