Mumbai, December 1: Actor Manisha Koirala, who was admitted to Jaslok Hospital on Wednesday night, was discharged from the hospital on Friday morning. Koirala is planning to pursue her treatment abroad, family sources said.

"We are planning to go to the United States. We haven't decided on hospital yet. The family is still trying to figure things out," said Mandira Koirala, the actor's sister-in-law.

The family, however, declined to comment on Koirala's illness, adding that it was a private matter.

On Thursday, Krishnakant Dasyam, spokesperson of Jaslok Hospital, had said that Koirala had undergone several medical tests and investigations but declined to comment on her illness.

"Manisha was discharged from the hospital on Friday morning at 9am and she is doing fine," Dasyam said.

The actor was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after she reportedly fell unconscious. Sources at the hospital said that Koirala was being treated by Dr Suresh Advani, director of medical oncology at the hospital.

Sources told HT that Koirala's family had obtained emergency US visas for their travel and are expected to travel on Saturday.

Manisha, who hails from a prominent political family in Nepal, has worked in several Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam movies.

She was last seen at the opening ceremony of the 14th Mumbai Film Festival and the Life of Pi premiere.
