Washington, May 2: Facebook has introduced a standalone app called Riff that has been designed as an evolving mix of clips that revolve around a specific topic. The app is meant to work like a video version of the Facebook chat thread, where users can make additions and make it go viral.
Josh Miller, the product manager of Facebook's Creative Labs said that the aim is to make these videos grow as big as possible to get as many views and as many clips. Snapchat has a similar feature "Our Stories" that looks like an inspiration for Riff with its crowd sourced collection of photos and videos tied to popular events around the world.
