Bengaluru, Mar 6: Farmers’ welfare is the highest in the mind of Karnataka government and it feels the farming community should be placed higher than the scientists, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said.
Speaking after handing over Krishi Pandit Awards to achievers among the farming community, the chief minister said farmer lead a tough life and bring a bounty not only to the people but also to the state’s economy. ‘’I believe in serving the farmer whether they vote for one party or the other. Politics should not come in the way of helping the farmer to better their lives,’’ he said.
The Chief Minister said that farmers had suffered a huge crop loss due to drought conditions in Karnataka and the government have taken several initiative to come to the rescue of the farmers community.
