Udupi, Sep 12: The officials of District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) in Udupi have managed to nab five suspects in connection with the coldblooded murder of history-sheeter Pitty Nagesh.
The arrested have been identified as Vishwanath Korankarapady, Guruprasad Alveoor, Santosh Nandagokula, Munna and Zakir Kukkikatte.
It is learnt that the police arrested Guruprasad first and then arrested four others based on the information given by him.
According to police sources, Munna, one among the five arrested, was an associate of Pitty Nagesh. However, he had reportedly conspired against him.
Two others, Santosh and Guruprasad, were also accused in the murder attempt on Pitty Nagesh that took place in 2010. However, Nagesh had survived with severe injuries and gradually recovered in hospital.
Sources said that on Thursday Munna and Pitty Nagesh together went to a bar at Katapady in a car. Later they moved towards Udupi in the same car. A group of miscreants reportedly waylaid the car at Udyavar and hacked Nagesh to death.
