Bengaluru, Nov 3: Former Legislator and Congress leader M P Ravindra, son of former Deputy Chief Minister M P Prakash, died due to prolonged illness in a private hospital here on Saturday.
He was 49. He is survived by his wife.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti were among others who paid their last respect to the departed soul by placing wreaths on the body and consoled the family members.
The body will was shifted to Mr Ravindra's native Harapanahalli in Davanagere District and the last rites will be held tomorrow, according to family sources.
Ravindra was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Harapanahalli in Ballari district in 2013. However, he had lost in 2018 assembly polls.
His father served as the DyCM of Karnataka during 2005-2006 and died on February 9, 2011 in Bangalore at the age of 71.
