Mumbai, Mar 19: A 17-year-old girl, trying to jump from her building to an adjacent one to meet her boyfriend, slipped and fell to her death in Thane on Tuesday.
According to the police, the girl is a resident of a housing complex at Kasarwadavali and had recently appeared for her Class XII exams.
The police said she was in a relationship with a boy living in the next building. But in order to avoid being caught with her friend on the CCTV cameras installed in the housing complex, the girl used to go to the other building through the terrace.
"Around 2.15pm on Tuesday, the girl went to the terrace as usual, but she found the door locked. She then messaged her friend about the locked door. The friend suggested that she should go to the balcony overlooking the gap between the two buildings and jump across," said a senior police officer.
The girl did as told, but as she took a leap, she slipped and fell to her death from the seventh floor. A case of accidental death has been registered at the Kasarwadavali police station.
