Patna, Nov 25: A group of students of a missionary school in Dhanbad were allegedly harassed and roughed up by youths in a train, following which the Railway Police has set up an inquiry.

"Though no formal complaint has been lodged either in Patna or Dhanbad in this connection, the Railway police have come to know about last night's incident from media reports and will look into the matter," Railway Superintendent of Police, Patna, Upendra Kumar Sinha said today.

He said he has spoken to his Dhanbad (in Jharkhand) counterpart about the incident.

The incident took place in Ganga Damodar Express when 98 students of Carmel School, Dhanbad were returning to Dhanbad after attending a two-day environmental camp in Patna.

A large number of youths claiming to be examinees for a Railway recruitment test of East Central Railway (ECR) at Dhanbad boarded the train from Patna and occupied the reserved seats of the girls.

According to reports, when the train left Patna at 11:40 PM, the unruly youths started harassing the girls and when the teachers protested, they were roughed up.

When the train reached Dhanbad in the early hours today, the girls narrated the incident to their parents.
