Mangalore, Feb 3: The graduation day and institution day of Dr M V Shetty Education Institutions was held at Loyola Auditorium of St Aloysius Pre-university College on February 1.
Health Minister U T Khader was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Khader said the vision and wisdom of Dr M Ramgopal Shetty, founder secretary of Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust for running successful venture of education in para-medical course for the last 25 years.
He also emphasized on the need of recruitment of qualified physiotherapists in hospitals.
Narayana Bhide, one who has overcome his disability was felicitated for his contribution towards the society.
Trustee Prof Hima Urmila Shetty read out the recitation.
In his presidential speech, Dr M Ramgopal Shetty, founder secretary of the trust said that although it was difficult to popularize the paramedical course initially it was accepted by the masses.
“Now the paramedical graduates have immense opportunities in India and abroad as well,” he said.
He also called upon the newly graduates to work in India at least for a few years and then to migrate to other nations.
Feba Samuel, an ongoing student recollected the rewarding educational experiences and praised the friendly atmosphere in the campus.
Dr Rajjith Shetty welcomed the gathering.
The principals of the trust colleges were present and read the annual reports.
Meryl Colaco and Shwetha Diwakar proposed vote of thanks.
Various cultural programmes were held on the occasion.
