Bengaluru, Jun 10: Governor Vajubhai Vala has finally approved the name of former MLA,?C?M?Lingappa, for nomination to the Legislative Council.
Last month, the governor approved the names of KPCC member Mohan Kondajji and former mayor P R Ramesh for nomination to the Council but rejected Lingappa's name.
As per the rules, those who have contributed significantly to the field of arts, literature, co-operation or have done social service should be nominated to the Council.
According to a source, the Governor found Lingappa not falling under any of these categories. But the government once again recommended Lingappa's name stating that he is an “educationist” as he runs several educational institutions. Vala approved the recommendation on Friday.
