Mangalore, Oct 23: The Hindu Jagarana Vedike Karnataka South Unit urged the State government to recommend a CBI probe into case of rape and murder, which had taken place under the Ujire police station limits in Dakshina Kannada district on October 9, 2012.
Speaking in a press meet here on Wednesday, Convener of the Vedike Sathyajit Suratkal said that the CID started interrogation but now there is need of CBI probe under the surveillance of court in relation with the rape and murder of Saujanya.
“It was not possible for either the police or the CID to crack this case as they were subject to pressure and influence from various quarters. The police and CID were trying to hush up the cases. The real perpetrators of these crimes are not been arrested and they deserve punishment under strict laws,” he stated.
“Now there is need for CBI investigation. But it has to be under the surveillance of court. Government can misguide CBI and use for its own benefits and tackle rivalry. So there should be courts supervision,” he urged.
Condemning the activities of anti-hindutva he said, “Some anti-Hindu activists are trying to malign the holiness of Dharmasthala and Vedike condemn such activities”, he said.
