Kasaragod, Jun 16: The police have registered a suo motu case in connection with an alleged murder attempt on a youth by an unidentified four-member group at Chowki here on Wednesday night.
The police said Rajesh alias Raju, 35, a resident of Mogral-Puthur village who was riding a scooter, along with a friend as pillion, was waylaid by a four-member group and attacked with weapons. The Kasaragod Town Police took the injured youth to a hospital and later shifted him to a private hospital in Mangaluru. A senior officer here said the incident might be a retaliatory attack as the victim was involved in several criminal cases with ‘communal shade.’
The police have registered a suo motu case against four persons in connection with the case.
