Teachers should be paid like IAS officers: Dr PV Bhandary

Moodbidre, Oct 22: “Teaching is a noble profession which makes change in a very systematic way. Teachers carry the utmost responsibility in constructive society. Hence teachers should be paid like IAS officers,” said eminent counselor and academician Dr. P.V. Bhandary.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Faculty Development Programme organized by commerce department of Alva’s College, Moodbidire.

In his presidential remarks, Principal, Dr. Kurian said, “Academic framework is changing today. Teaching methodology should aim at constructivism. Teacher should be able to share the experience of knowledge and on the other side, students should have reciprocating mindset. To create such academic environment, self evaluation is need of the hour. FDP will help each faculty in this regard.”

Dr. S. Ganesh Bhat released ‘Vanijya’ annual journal of the department. Prof. K. Umesh Shetty, Dean, welcome the guest. Two day four sessions are focused towards ‘Campus initiatives of fostering academic growth for better teachers.
