Karwar, January 22: R H Naik, senior health inspector, Karwar City Municipal Council, was caught red-handed receiving bribe by the Lokayukta officials on Saturday.
He was working on contract for six months, it is said.
According to the Lokayukta officials, Naik had asked Lokesh Sawant of Nadanagadda to pay him Rs. 1,500 to secure permission to building a toilet.
Mr. Sawant complained this to the Lokayukta officials. On Saturday, the Lokayukta police laid a trap and arrested Naik. He was produced before a local court.
