Man gets electrocuted, dies on sets of Rajinikanth's 'Kaala'

Chennai, Jun 23: A crew member of superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kaala Karikaalan' died on the sets of the film in Chennai after getting electrocuted.

According to reports, the technician passed away after stepping on a live wire.

A report in media states that the worker, Michael, died after getting electrocuted on the huge Rs-5 crore set in EVP Studios in Poonamalle for 'Kaala Karikaalan' shoot. The reports further states that his co-workers rushed him to the hospital, but he couldn't be saved. The report has also quoted sources as saying that the police officials are currently investigating the case.

Besides Rajinikanth, 'Kaala Karikaalan' also stars Huma Qureshi and Nana Patekar. The project marks the second collaboration of director Pa Ranjith and Rajinikanth after 'Kabali'.

Rajinikanth recently wrapped up shooting his portion for the Mumbai schedule of the Tamil gangster drama.

In the second schedule of the film, the team is shooting in a specially erected Dharavi set in Chennai.

Dhanush is bankrolling the film, and he is rumoured to be playing a cameo in the film.
