Saudi Arabia bans books of Hassan al-Banna, Sayyid Qutb, Yousuf al-Qaradawi

Jeddah, Dec 2: The Ministry of Education in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has banned all schools, libraries and resource centers from using 80 books of writers linked to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood organization.

The writers include Hassan Al-Banna, Sayyid Qutb and Yousuf Al-Qaradawi, reported an online publication on Tuesday, quoting a circular issued by the ministry.

The circular stated that these books should be handed to the ministry within two weeks. The ministry has also warned education departments and schools not to accept any gifts other than those given by the ministry.

The banned books include “Allah and the Islamic Faith,” and “The Ten Principles” by Hassan Al-Banna, “The Lawful and Prohibited in Islam” by Yousuf Al-Qaradawi and “Shubhaat Hawl Al-Islam” by Sayyid Qutb.
