Mangalore, September 19: Mangalore police have registered a case against 16 people in connection with the scuffle broke out at the premises of a Masjid in the city during Jum'a prayer last Friday.
A senior police officer at Pandeshwara Police Station told 'Coastaldigest.com' that a woman has lodged a complaint against 16 people for allegedly insulting and assaulting on her and other women.
The complainant has been identified as Dilnavaz, wife of Abdul Wajib, a resident of Falnir, Mangalore.
In her complaint, Dilnavaz said that Hashir, Perode Ashraf, Abdul Salam, Iqbal Ambar, Nasir and Shafeeq and other 10 men have assaulted her and fellow women Shakeera, Maimoona, Shabana, while they entered into Masjidunoor located at Hampanakatta for Jum'a prayer.
According to the complainant, the accused have issued life threat to the women showing knife. She also accused them of attacking women by the chairs.
