Mangalore, December 11: BJP's top most leader and former deputy prime minister LK Advani on Saturday sought to stay away from the controversy that erupted following uncharitable remarks by some state-level party leaders against Lokayuka Santhosh Hegde.
Mr Advani, who arrived here at Bajpe Airport in the morning on his way to Udupi to attend the 80th birthday celebrations of Pejawar Vishweshatheertha Swamiji, refused to react on the political developments in the state.
In a terse reaction to a specific query by the waiting journalists on the ongoing tussle between the BJP leaders and the Lokayukta, Mr Advani said, “the party president Nitin Gadkari is seized of the matter.”
Higher Education minister VS Acharya, District in-charge minister J Krisna Palemar, among others, were present at the airport and subsequently accompanied him to Udupi by road.
