Mangalore, Jul 26: The bail application of three accused in the murder case of Bajrang Dal activist Rajesh Poojary were rejected for the second time by the district court during CID investigation in the case.
The accused Hussain, Imran and Irshad from Mallur village were denied bail due to the objection filed by CID investigating officers.
Following charges that the police had arrested three innocent youth in the murder case of Rajesh Poojary that took place in March this year, the case was handed over to the CID police for re-investigation on July 2.
After the case was handed over, the accused had applied to the court for bail, but however, their bail application was rejected.
The district unit of DYFI had held protests for the past two months, demanding a re-investigation in the murder case, contending that the police had wrongly arrested three innocents due to mounting pressure on them.
Amidst growing demands, the case was handed to the CID police for conducting re-investigation. In this regard, the three accused had applied for bail for a second time, which was again denied by the district court.
However, it is not clear whether the investigating CID team have begun looking into the case.
Meanwhile, the families of Hussain, Imran and Irshad still mourn the arrests of the youth and denial of their bail applications.
