Talks have been held with the Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar in this regard. In the coming days, a delegation of company officers and employees will visit the capital to hand over a memorandum to the concerned union ministers and Prime Minister, he said.
Speaking to reporters at the sidelines of a programme organised by MCF here on Sunday, he said that the previous government had taken a decision to convert naphtha-based plants to function with natural gas as feedstock due to deficiency of naphtha.
Once Modi-led government came into being, the manufacturing units using naphtha were given three months' additional time, since a lot of families depend on the units for their livelihood, he said.
On the occasion, a memorandum was handed over to the MP by labourers employed by MCF led by organisation president K Sooryanarayana.
In reply to a query, Mr Kateel said that the chief minister's decision to ban Hindutva groups was not right. If he has the courage, let him attempt to ban Muslim terror organisations and arrest naxalites. He has spared terrorists such as Rashid Malabari, said Mr Kateel.
